I was blessed to recieved an advance copy of this book and am so glad I did. It was all that it promised and more. Jack Stratton is vulnerable, intense, devoted to finding truth, and yet he really struggles continually with his sense of self worth because of his past. When Jack was a teenager he was about to enter the army. This is essentially his first case. Although I’ve never read a Christopher Greyson novel prior to this one, I was very impressed and will continue to read his books. ThIs was a page turner and a sweet romance mixed in with the intrigue. Well done
Kyle Miller never planned on becoming a country doctor. But when he’s offered a medical practice in his sleepy hometown, Kyle knows he must return… and face the painful past he left behind. Except the Amish community isn’t quite ready for Kyle. Especially the pretty midwife who refuses to compromise her traditions with his modern medicine.
The more Leah Stoltzfus works with the handsome Englisch doctor, the more she finds herself caught between the expectations of her family and her own hopes for the future. It will take one surprising revelation and one helpless baby in need of love to show Leah and Kyle that their bond may be greater than their differences if Leah can find the courage to follow her heart.
This was a sweet tale of love, betrayal, forgiveness and ask the entanglements of real life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and hated for it to end. Thank you Rachel J. Good for writing such an incredible book!!
What happenings and environments wrought the most hated man in history? How does a child become a young man who evolved into a self-proclaimed messiah? Why did this one man become a psychotic who was responsible for the deaths of more than 50 million people?
This book follows the first, formative years of Adolf Hitler’s life. Presented as a personal journal, this is a fact-supported re-telling of a desperate existence, as viewed by Hitler, and tracks the points of pain that forged his beliefs. From a childhood of abuse and cheating death to an agonizing unrequited love to torturous years as a beggar in Vienna to finally finding his destiny. Enflamed by delusions, Hitler embraced the powers he believed guided his life.
This is a story of dire happenstances that broke a mind and spirit, created beliefs that twisted innocence, ultimately morphing into a malicious brew that changed the world forever.
This is the one story that’s never been told.
A.G. Mogan has written an incredible book based on years of research, to bring you to a greater understanding of what Hitlers life was like, what events conspired to create the monster he became. I highly recommend this first volume to you! Keep an eye out for volumes two and three. She is truly a very gifted writer!
“What do a woman of faith and a heathen biker have in common? The devil, of course. Tessa is moved to intercede for a man she’s never met. When they do meet, she’s stunned. Gunnar is gorgeous, charismatic, and driven. He’s also hostile, self-destructive, and an unbeliever… and she’s drawn to him like no other. The temptation she feels is as dangerous as it is alluring. She wants to stay away, but God has other plans. He reveals the devil’s intent to destroy Gunnar, and commissions Tessa to keep him covered in prayer. Can she rely on God to keep her from falling… in love, and into temptation? Or will the devil claim them both?”
This was a really well written book. It’s real life Christianity. I could appreciate Tessa’s dilemma as a woman drawn to an unbeliever. She stays true to her convictions and continues to pray for Gunner, even before she met him, God had her praying for him. It gives a glimpse into the spiritual battle for our souls. Highly recommended!
Wow, I apologize for being MIA for so long!! I’m still reading books but life has sort of gotten in the way. The good news is I’m back!

Sand in My Sandwich: And Other Motherhood Messes I’m Learning to Love By Sarah Parshall Perry
Synopsis: There is no perfect family, no life free of mess.
But in the midst of all of it, God is there, reminding us, “My child, I got this.”
You know that thing when you’re in Walmart at noon before you discover you haven’t brushed your teeth? Sarah Parshall Perry gets that. She also gets weird things showing up in her bed, her daughter requesting war paint, and her son crawling into a giant blue sock on Christmas morning. Sometimes, she gets that conflicted feeling of finding her kids hanging out in the dog’s cage and realizing that, yes, dog cages are not for people, but . . . they have stopped getting into trouble.
According to Perry, “The hardest stuff is the quickest way to God.” And if the systematic destruction of her carefully planned life is any indication, she’s on the fast track to sainthood! A mother of three children, two of whom are on the autism spectrum, she has experienced plenty of ups and downs. But from the chaos of her “ordinary” life, she pulls truth packed with humor, poignancy, and a naked honesty that will make you realize you are not alone in this delightfully messy thing called motherhood.
So sit back, relax awhile, and get ready to laugh.
“Brokenness is part of our humanity and Sarah Perry gets it. Sand in My Sandwich is her story of living with transparency, grace, humor, and hope. Joni and Ken: an Untold Love Story by Larry Libby, Joni Eareckson Tada, Ken Tada
Synopsis: This is the true love story of Joni and her husband of 30 years, Ken Tada. A love story showing what it truly means for a man and a woman to live in love … in sickness and in health.
Even the honeymoon wasn’t easy. Did Ken realize what he was getting into when he proposed to Joni, a quadriplegic woman? As their marriage years moved on, Ken became increasingly overwhelmed by the never-ceasing demands of caring for Joni, who begins to experience chronic, extreme, nightmarish pain. Ken sinks into depression, and the couple finds themselves on parallel tracks in life, married and living under the same roof but drifting apart emotionally.
But as they fight for their marriage and find their way through the mazes of depression and pain, they wrap their two lives around their rock—Jesus.
During Ken’s denial of Joni’s diagnosis, and Joni’s thoughts of how wonderful a quick exit to heaven would be, they experience a personal visitation with the savior you will never forget.
Review: I loved the honesty, vulnerability, and genuineness of their love story. Mostly it highlights their journey through Joni’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. It gives glimpses into their early marriage right up to the current day. Joni broke her neck at 17 and God has used her quadriplegia in incredible ways, not only here but internationally. I would put this in your list of books to read for 2015!
